'Melbourne Skyfarm will be a wonderful platform to showcase what is possible for sustainable cities embracing the future. Using the Australian-designed and manufactured Biofilta Foodcube urban farming system, Skyfarm is the perfect site to show how cities can build abundant, simple, water-efficient urban farms in any location, and become prolific closed-loop food-producers.'

'Melbourne Skyfarm represents a fundamental shift in what it means to do business in this day and age. it is a bold and exciting step towards a future where nature in cities is the norm. A world where businesses seek to not only minimise their impact on the environment, but actually seek to generate good. It is a demonstration of how nature, people, and our economy can thrive together, and provides a much-needed platform in the inner city for interaction, education, and storytelling about the wonders of nature.'

'Melbourne Skyfarm represents a true example of how we can create functional nature based places in the urban environment. In this instance it helps with urban cooling, enables biodiversity, creates food supply and is a place for communities to connect. We hope Skyfarm is a beacon of positivity of what can be done as humanity tackles climate and biodiversity concerns.'

Our Impact

Each FoodCube has the potential to produce 20kg of produce per m2 per year. To date, SkyFarm has produced over .$100,000 worth of produce to our Charity partner Ozharvest.

The produce grown at Melbourne SkyFarm helps to fight food waste, improves nutrition, and reduces food insecurity for the lesser privileged.

We'd like to thank all of our volunteers, they should be proud of their efforts and impact to date, and we aim to continue to produce and inspire cities as productive, green, and community inspired spaces into the future.

We believe that urban agriculture is important part of a more sustainable future, and the liveability of our cities.
